An epic wedding weekend in Pebble Beach
This couple planned their Pebble Beach destination wedding from across the country in their home state of Georgia. Being so far away, they knew they weren’t going to be able to visit the Monterey Peninsula multiple times while planning their wedding and ultimately knew they needed guidance and someone to be really hands on with all the details.
They got engaged on the Pebble Beach course while playing golf and they love visiting Pebble Beach. Sharing the destination and all the things they love about the destination was hugely important to them for the day. They knew early in the process that since 95% of guests were traveling from across the country, they wanted to make it a long weekend of events and include as many people as possible in the various events. We immediately hit it off in the planning process because they knew what they wanted, what they liked, but didn’t have the time or connections to make it happen. Planning a wedding with them was so wonderful, their love of the area, their focus on family and ensuring everyone felt cared for and welcomed was pivotal to them. They wanted thoughtful details and attention to the small touches that made people feel special.
They wanted to have a travel themed golf course wedding that felt romantic as well as classic. Their travel themed invitations and stationary was the first place that set the tone. Their invites were styled off passport books and boarding passes to get people ready to the trip of a lifetime to celebrate the union. The passport also set the color palette of the weekend leaning into dusty blues, soft pinks, elegant creams and touches of gold. This color palette ran through all the weekend events.
As guests arrived and checked into their Carmel and Pebble Beach Destionations they were greeted by welcome bags. The welcome bags were curated by Big Little Boxes and were filled with a destination candle memento for guests to take away and local treats to enjoy over the weekend while they were there. The welcome bags also included an informative welcome note with reminders on the weekends events and logistics.
The couple started with a travel themed welcome party at Tehama Golf Course, we referred to it as the “arrivals party”. They wanted to give guests a view of the gorgeous rolling hills of Carmel, since their wedding would be right on the coastline at Pebble Beach. Guests were welcomed by a big, bright floral wall with custom luggage tags for guests to take claiming “You Have Arrived”. The night included fun, travel inspired signature cocktails and a lounge inspired set up to give guests ample time to mingle. The same pinks and blues were used for this welcome party but kicked up to brighter levels to feel cohesive but also consistent with the wedding stationary and wedding day to come.
Their wedding ceremony took place at The Inn at Spanish Bay, on the Peppoli Lawn, overlooking the beautiful Spanish Bay Coastline. Their ceremony boasted a lush floral, black metal arch covered in soft romantic roses and orchid florals. The black chiavari chairs and aisle were lined with beautiful florals that were repurposed for the reception, making the setting feel modern, yet romantic and inviting. It framed the coastline without it obstructing the beautiful views in Pebble Beach.
The reception was held at the Pebble Beach Beach and Tennis Club, which is near the Pebble Beach Lodge. Guests were greeted by lush floral window boxes, framing the ocean view of Stillwater Cove and an outdoor cocktail hour overlooking the ocean. The dining room at the Beach and Tennis Club was filled with neutral tables boasting soft, romantic blush and white floral arrangements complimented with a lavish array of candles and touches of soft french blue. Since the sun would set quickly off the coast of the late summer wedding, the ceiling was covered in a blanket of soft twinkle lights to give the feeling of being under the stars in the indoor wedding reception setting. Everything about a wedding at the Beach and Tennis Club is spectacular, from the food and beverage to the views, to the immaculate presidential style service.
The evening was filled with fun and dancing to the incredible band, Davis and the Love, who traveled in from Atlanta to really rock the house. The dance floor stayed full all night long and it was hard to bring the party to an end.
