Beautiful Hanging Florals for a Wedding
I started working with this couple about 10 months in advance of their wedding. They had most of their vendors booked already but were looking for guidance on wedding design and pulling all of their plans together to make the wedding a success.
Their biggest struggle was design, which is pretty common for couples. The bride really wanted a fun, casual barn wedding; however for the reception she wanted something unexpected and elegant. The bride also wanted a massive head table because the couple both had 10 people in the wedding party and naturally they all wanted to sit together. Their guest count was just at the capacity for the venue, so we had to get a little creative to make everything work without feeling cramped or crowded at the tables. The bride also wanted to have orange and coral in the design as they were her favorite colors.
We decided to incorporate a nice soft palette of dusty light blue and grey green with pops of coral and orange.
The couple had the ceremony in a meadow filled with sheep and adorable baby lambs. Amazingly none of the cute little animals interrupted the ceremony! The bridesmaids all wore a beautiful soft dusty blue gown that was complemented by bright bouquets. The colors really popped in the countryside setting.
To keep the crowded barn space comfortable for guests we decided to elevate the floral arrangements and have them hanging above the large head table in the middle of the barn. The other guest tables were kept small with wooden box arrangements to compliment the hanging installation. For a touch of elegance, we added a large hanging brass chandelier to the hanging floral arrangement. We used a mix of hanging potted plants and macrame hangers to give it a casual feel while remaining eye catching.
After the beautiful dinner and toasts, we moved the party to the small barn at the Mission Ranch. The band, the Lucky Devils, brought down the house with a fun mix of blues, pop, and rock that left everyone in the crowd dancing the night away.
