7 Ways I Help Couples Create a Beautiful Experience {And a Beautiful Wedding}

If I were to ask you to describe a beautiful wedding, how would you answer?

Like most people, you might talk about the decorations, the delicious food, and the thrilling entertainment.

And while all of those elements do make up a beautiful wedding, there’s something else that I find makes a wedding even more beautiful. THE EXPERIENCE.

Here’s what I mean.

What does it mean to have a beautiful experience at a wedding?

A beautiful experience is something that transports you away from your daily life.

Within this beautiful experience, you feel fully at ease in the moment, knowing that everything is taken care of.

You’re able to enjoy every minute with the people who are most important to you.

These are the kinds of weddings I love helping my couples create. Because I think the best weddings are not necessarily just filled with over-the-top florals or show-stopping bands but experiences that are conducive to enjoying those around you to the fullest.

I look back at my own wedding experience and realize that my wedding was the last time I saw many people. It was the last time I got to see my grandmother. And the last time I saw a lot of my friends who now live on the other side of the country.

It is so important to create time and space to be with your people. And when you have that time and space, it should be filled with happiness and give you plenty of opportunities to create memories!

7 Ways I Help You Create a Beautiful Wedding Experience

To give you both a beautiful wedding and a beautiful experience, I create an atmosphere that allows you and your guests to really relax, enjoy your time together, and forget about everything else for a moment in time. Here’s a peek into how I do that.

1. Effortless Event Flow

How the event flows, from start to finish, is so important. From the time my team and I arrive at the venue to the time we walk out 14 hours later, our main goal is to manage the day and ensure everything flows naturally.

This means doing things like:

  • Going over the timeline, decor list, and layout
  • Walking the venue and noting things that need to be taken care of
  • Decor setup
  • Answering questions
  • Managing the wedding party
  • Checking in with catering and other vendors
  • Clearing out the ceremony space
  • Cleaning up at the end of the night

It’s A LOT! But we do it all, and we do it with joy because it means you and your closest people get to experience the day to its fullest.

With us by your side, you won’t have to worry about whether this or that is being handled. You won’t have to field questions as you’re trying to get ready. And you won’t have to think about what happens to all the stuff at the end of the night.

You’ll just be able to sink into the day with your nearest and dearest. Laugh, cry, and enjoy!

2. Guest Logistics on Point

This is all about what the experience is like for your guests.

How does everyone get to each venue?

Is it easy and accessible?

What is the first thing they see?

How many reception servers are needed?

What shape table is best?

Logistics aren’t glamorous. They are the nitty-gritty details that very few people think about. But they are the details that can make or break a person’s experience.

Lots of clear communication goes into creating a logistical plan. My team and I are always talking with each other and with other vendors to ensure everything stays on track and people get where they need to be easily and on time.

And most importantly, we dig into these details to make sure everyone has a pleasant experience.

3. Design with You in Mind

Creating a beautiful experience through design is one of the most fun parts of my job. But it goes much deeper than thinking about what a wedding will look like.

I’ll ask myself questions like:

How will people feel in the space?

What elements will they interact with the most?

Adding personal touches to your wedding day is one of the best ways to create a beautiful experience. We can do this by giving guests welcome bags full of local goodies, creating interactive escort card displays, or by putting your personal stamp on favors (custom labels on wine bottles, for example).

A well-designed wedding will make guests feel welcomed, appreciated, excited, and relaxed.

4. Food and Beverage

Even if food and beverage aren’t hugely important to you, it is typically something everyone remembers from a wedding.

If the bar line is long and the food is cold – that’s a big ole thumbs down.

But if the dinner was plated beautifully and exceptionally delicious – five stars!

Here again, is where I take into consideration everything from guest logistics (so your guests aren’t waiting around or eating cold food) to design details (long tables or round). All the pieces have to fit together to give your guests an enjoyable experience. And I make sure they do!

5. Your Priorities

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again (and again) – what’s important to you as a couple will ultimately shape how we plan and navigate the wedding process.

When we sit down to talk about all things wedding, we’ll discuss your priorities, write them down, and make sure everyone is on the same page when it comes to what’s truly important to you.

Maybe you want an amazing dining experience for your guests. Or maybe entertainment is more of a priority.

Whatever the case, knowing (and setting) your priorities for your wedding will act as a guide for everyone involved.

6. Relaxation

How you feel on your wedding day will really set the tone for the whole day.

Do you want to be worried, stressed, and sad? Of course not! And I wouldn’t dare have you feeling even close to those things.

Instead, I want you focused on being happy, relaxed, and joyful. And spending quality time with the special people you’ve invited to your wedding.

That’s why I make sure from the get-go that everything and everyone is where they need to be. I’ll check in with you before the ceremony to see how you’re feeling. I’ll also check in with vendors and answer any questions they (or anyone else) may have before it’s go time.

And the check-ins don’t stop there. There will always be someone around throughout the wedding day should you need them. But you’ll probably be too busy having fun to even notice we’re there! Which leads us to this last point.

7. Being Present Without Hovering

I think a big part of a wedding planner’s job is to be everywhere without being everywhere.

We may have our hands on every element of the day and move from place to place like the busy little bees we are. But we don’t want people to see all the behind-the-scenes hustle.

We strive to always be present for our couples at any time. And we are always there for you when needed. But we will never be in your face, and you won’t feel like you’re part of a production.

Instead, you’ll be able to relax, knowing that my team and I have created a comfortable, nicely flowing event that you and your guests can fully immerse yourselves in.
